What services do you provide?
The Mailroom provides students with mail receiving and shipping services. We get packages every day from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon. Mail is processed in our office and distributed to the mailboxes and contactless lockers across Doble and South Campus. Oversized, refrigerated, or overflow packages are stored in our office. The Copy Center provides students with Black & White and Color printing and copying, GBC comb binding and tape binding, 3-hole punching, stapling, cutting and folding, large format posters, mounting banners, and scan to email. We are also able to assist with PaperCut printing services, password resetting, and device and printer troubleshooting.
PLEASE ADVISE that we ask that all print requests are sent 48 business hours in advance.
Email all requests and questions to document@lesley.edu!
Can I send packages and letters to people?
Yes! You can ship letters and packages anywhere in the US (International Mailing prohibited) using the Mailroom. We utilize both USPS and FedEx to ship. Cost depends on
1. How heavy the package is, 2. Where the package is going, and 3. How quickly you want it to get to its location. Letters with postage already applied OR packages with return labels
already printed can be delivered to us to be sent out to couriers. We do not provide stamps, instead we can apply postage to letters at a flat rate of 74 cents. All payments are made through Lesley CashLynx, as we do not accept Cash or Cards.
Can I borrow a cart for Move-In/Out?
Unfortunately no, students are not allowed to use our mail carts for moving purposes.
Please reach out to Facilities by placing a work order through PRISM.
How do I know my package has been delivered?
You will be notified that 1. Your package has been received by our office, and 2. That it has been delivered to the proper pickup location through your Lesley email. Please wait until you have received the said email to come to our office to pick up your package. Sometimes couriers scan packages as delivered before handing them off to us, which can cause confusion.
My package doesn’t have my name on it. Will I still get it?
Yes! We advise students to put both First and Last Name along with your Mailbox # on your orders to ensure that it is routed to the correct person. As long as there are 2 points of reference to whom the package is addressed to, it will be delivered as such. If a package has a family member's name on it or anything was entered incorrectly, please email our office at mailroom@lesley.edu to give us a heads up! Make sure that all packages are being sent with the proper mailing address on them (38 Mellen St, Cambridge MA, 02138). Lesley University is not responsible/liable for any packages not sent to this address.
Can I have a package picked up by a friend?
Absolutely! Please email mailroom@lesley.edu in advance to inform us of who will be receiving your package. Please include their first and last name along with their student ID. When they arrive, delivery procedures will be as normal.
I lost my Mailbox card! What do I do?
Don’t fret! We can look up your information and provide you with a new card with your Mailbox # and Combination whenever you need. We are also available to assist with opening the mailboxes as well, as the combination locks can be difficult to open.
My package is supposed to arrive after you close. What will happen to it?!
All packages are securely stored in our lockers on the loading dock. They are kept under 24/7 surveillance until we return in the morning to process them. Contactless lockers are accessible by your own personal QR code/ID # that is attached to your delivery notification email, and our office is locked every day after 6PM.
My package is a perishable item. What does that mean?
Packages that are clearly marked as perishable are placed in the fridge in our office and are marked as such within our system. They are kept cool until they are ready for pickup!
I’m waiting on a letter. When will it arrive?
Compared to packages that come with tracking numbers, letters sadly do not. Therefore, we are unable to accurately predict when they will arrive. If it is important, we can email you upon its arrival.
